Woeful Wednesday – A Eulogy for Bray Wyatt, then some ideas for Resurrection.

Woeful Wednesday – A Eulogy for Bray Wyatt, then some ideas for Resurrection.

Ladies and gentlemen, I come to you under somber circumstances. Going into Wrestlemania week, I had hoped that we happy few members of the NAIborhood would find nothing but frivolity and joy, but it seems, as with all things, we must take some time to be sad.

Today, we lay to rest one of our dearest favorites. . . Someone whom we thought might one day live forever.

Today, we say goodbye to the dearly departed Bray Wyatt.

My Turn, Doc: Why I Am Excited for Wrestlemania!

My Turn, Doc: Why I Am Excited for Wrestlemania!

Yesterday, my esteemed partner in podcast crime Doc Manson posted an article about the reasons why he was excited for this Sunday’s Wrestlemania. Never one to shy away from borrowing a good idea, I’ve decided to go ahead and offer my own reasons. In order to keep the good Doctor from screaming about plagiarism on this week’s DDTpod, though, I’ve ranked the matches in order of my excitement AND I have included the three prospective pre-show contests.

Wrestlemania Watch List – The “Best” Matches from each of the show of shows.

For many in the NAIborhood, the last few weeks have been spent binge watching Wrestlemanias of old in preparation for next weekend’s festivities.

However, not everyone might have had the time (or interest, honestly) to do so. Still, some sort of homework must be done, so leave it to “The Teacher” to have you covered.

This is the first of what might be a couple of Wrestlemania Watch Lists, where I offer a series of matches for your entertainment and education.

Lab Works: Shane McMahon vs. the Undertaker is (Potentially) Good Storytelling

Lab Works: Shane McMahon vs. the Undertaker is (Potentially) Good Storytelling

Twitter is ablaze with comments about the latest development in the Undertaker v. Shane McMahon storyline that is being built for WrestleMania this year. The most vocal portions of the audience are displeased with the overall direction of the angle, and every new development only seems to heap more fuel upon the already blazing IWC (Internet Wrestling Community). I’m just not so sure that this storyline is as bad as everyone wants me to think it is.

For weeks, perhaps even months now, the WWE Universe has been wondering one thing…

Who will Undertaker face as Wrestlemania 32?

As time goes by, that question becomes even more fervent, especially since all the likely options seem to be dwindling faster than Titus O’Neil’s WHC chances. (Though as I wrote last week, I still think there’s a way to salvage this from a storyline, which then means a PR, point of view.)

So on a whim this afternoon, I began jotting down a list of potential opponents for The Phenom. Some of these are popular options I’ve seen online; some are completely original. Well, technically I don’t think anything can count as original anymore, but some were created by me without getting help from the NAIborhood.

Therefore, I humbly present to you. . .

As much as I love the WWE Network (and if you follow me on Twitter, you know I obviously do), I miss the days of my youth watching WWF PPV’s. Inviting a group of friends over, my parents snacking us up, dragging a mattress down the stairs to have our own wrestling matches on the living room floor.

The reason I miss that so much is because with all that fun and frivolity, it didn’t matter if the wrestling wasn’t up to par. In the case of Wrestlemania 13, this was more of a double or triple bogey. Despite the incredible array of talent, this card was lacking.

Still, it is Wrestlemania season, and to be honest, this probably isn’t the worst card in the world. Onward!

In honor of Brock’s new contract, let’s bring this back up

Usually here on What If Wednesdays, we ponder a historic hypothetical. Some event from the past that could have been different in an alternate universe, and how that change echoes through time.

Not this week.

No, this week I would like to consider a current conundrum – A “what if” that might actually happen – Something that could change the shape of our beloved wrestling industry for years to come…

What if Brock Lesnar isn’t leaving at Wrestlemania?

From the NAI Archive – January 20, 2015 – RAW Response: 10 guys who COULD win the Rumble

The Royal Rumble is but a few short days away, and from the look and feel of RAW last night, WWE just noticed. Last night’s show was a reminder that when push comes to shove, we can get a solid three hour wrestling show that has moments of greatness, which is really all we can ever expect.

There wasn’t a single moment that stood out to me (besides, of course, The Ascension getting buried by practically the entire cast of Monday Night War), so rather than reflect on a specific moment, I’d like to look ahead to the Rumble and give you 10 superstars who I could see winning the entire thing, and why they could be the lead car on the Road to Wrestlemania.

That’s right, I promised you 10 superstars. Hopefully I can come up with that many. . .

The Undertaker is a major feature of the WWE’s Wrestlemania 31 advertisements that currently adorn their production trucks, and with rumors beginning to fly about whether or not Mark Calloway makes his return to WWE in the next few months, I thought we should take a look at what his role could be for the “Grand-Daddy of them all!”
